Today's #Point2Ponder:We NEED to understand that playing political games with the Constitution will only lead to its destruction.
What we are hearing from politicians and the media is that Mitch McConnell with refuse to allow the Senate to consider the president's nomination for Supreme Court Justice.
We are also hearing from politicians and media that certain committee chairs will refuse to allow the confirmation hearings to convene.
Is this what the Constitution really says?????
Article V of the US Constitution:
"...no State, without its Consent, shall be deprived of it's equal Suffrage in the Senate."
Article 2 section 2 of US Constitution:
"[The President] shall nominate, and, by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, shall appoint Ambassadors, other public Ministers and Consuls, Judges of the supreme Court..."
If Mitch McConnell can refuse to hold a confirmation hearing for a justice nominated by the President, then... ONE MAN has total control over the suffrage of all the States.
If one committee chair can refuse to hold a hearing for a justice nominated by the President, then...ONE MAN has total control over the suffrage of all the States.
That is a violation of Article V. Refusing the president his proper authority based upon political games is a clear violation of Article 2 clause 2.
That means America is not a republic built upon equal representation. America has become an oligarchy or a limited monarchy.
ANYONE who is demanding that the this president cannot nominate and that this senate will not hold a confirmation hearing is acting to destroy the Constitution. HOW? LOOK...
What will all these political games and lies perpetrated by the media actually say to a people that are fundamentally ignorant to the Constitution? What message will the people take away from this discussion?
The ignorant and misled will believe that the Constitution is flawed to allow these people so much power. They will also believe that the Constitution needs to be amended or reinterpreted to remove this power from one person, so the will of the people can be heard. The Constitution will then be doubted and denied. The Constitution will be attacked instead of the ignorant and greedy politicians. The Constitution's authority will be further undermined and politicians will go unchecked. The enemies of the Constitution wins and the lovers of Liberty lose.
WHY can't we just follow the Constitution? Why can't the Senate just do its job? Why do we have to lie and maneuver and scheme and distort for power and politics?
Political games whose only purpose is the power of parties is the complete destruction of our republic and Liberty itself.
